Visual showing signer SmartTags on Connie, including bank details and social security number

Our SmartTags got and update and bank details and ID numbers now check themselves.

A signer types their social security number with one digit missing. Another puts their account number in the reg. no field.

Nobody notices. The contract gets signed, everyone moves on. Then payroll bounces, three weeks later, and you’re writing “Hi, quick question about your bank details” to someone who barely remembers the shoot.

Sound familiar?

Why these details go wrong

It’s rarely carelessness. These numbers are just easy to get wrong:

  • They look different everywhere. A Danish CPR number, a UK National Insurance number and a German Social Security Number share almost nothing.

  • Bank details have different fields. Reg. no and account number in Denmark. Sort code in the UK. IBAN across Europe.

  • One wrong digit looks fine. Nothing on the screen tells you it’s off.

  • You only find out later. When the money doesn’t arrive.

The fix is to catch the mistake while the signer is still looking at the form.

What’s new in SmartTags

You asked for this one a lot, so here it is. The SmartTags for Bank Details and Social Security Number / CPR number are now smarter.

Identity numbers, shaped to the country

The social secuirty number field in Connie

The signer picks the country that issued their number, and the field takes on that country’s format. A Dane sees CPR number, a Brit sees National Insurance number, and so on.

As they type, the field fills in the dashes and spaces for them and then Connie checks it:

  • 15 countries, including Norway, Sweden, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, France and Spain: Connie checks the number’s own check digit, which catches almost every typo and swapped digit.

  • Denmark: Connie checks that the birth date is real and the length is right.

  • Any other country: The number is still accepted, just without the format check.

Bank details, the way their bank prints it

The bank information pop-up field in Connie.

The signer picks their bank’s country and fills in the fields that country actually uses. Reg. no and account number in Denmark. Sort code in the UK. An IBAN anywhere in Europe.

Every IBAN is checked for the right length and a valid checksum. So a wrong digit is caught before they sign, not when you pay.

Private by default

CPR numbers and bank details are sensitive, so Connie hides them in the app. Your team sees a blurred value with an eye icon. Click it to show the number. Connie records who looked in the audit trail. The signer and the signed PDF always show the number in full.

And if you use Payouts

Numbers entered in these SmartTags go straight onto the payout. Already checked, already in the right format, and marked as entered by the signer themselves. No retyping.

Nothing to set up

Your existing templates with the old bank details and social security tags are upgraded automatically. The dialog and all its hints are translated into all 15 languages Connie’s signing pages support.

Go have a look

Open a document or SignPage draft or a template, add a bank details or social security tag and see how it looks to you and your signers. And if there’s another field that could be improved tell us. We love to receive your feedback!
